In December 2011, the Nintendo DSi version of Angry Birds was the runner-up for the 2011 Family Game of the Year during the 10th annual Family Game Players Awards. Angry Birds DSi is a puzzle action game available on the Nintendo DSi. A sequel titled Angry Birds 2 was announced at the 2011 E3 conference and released for iOS on July 1, 2012. On February 15, 2012, it was released for Android on the Google Play Store. In May 2013, an N-Gage version for the Nokia N-Gage was released, along with apps for mobiles and tablets, and Angry Birds DSi on the Nintendo 3DS. Angry Birds is currently available for mobile devices by an additional Angry Birds mobile app on all of the Angry Birds games homescreens.
On May 4, 2011, Angry Birds, along with its characters, the app's soundtrack, and workbook, were included in the New York City–based author's anthology, Angry Birds, In New York . The book is an original, illustrated novel about the Angry Birds' rise to fame, with an inside look at the creators of the game and the 2012 feature film sequel, Angry Birds 2.

Angry Birds were portrayed as a group of birds living a happy life until Shrek shows up and claims ownership of the Angry Birds' eggs. Angry Birds were featured on May 24, 2011, on Russian television commercial created by creative agency «Acting», which was called the «Nation's Game». The commercial won a Golden Aardvark (statuette) for the first place in the first category presented the ad «Acting».
